In 2016-2017, 168 children received a book as a gift accompanied by their mother's voice. This project is carried out in the two women's detention centers in Quebec by the Society's team.

This year’s Women Inmates’ Award was presented at the closing ceremony of the Montreal International Documentary Film Festival (RIDM) by a member of the Jury and a representative of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Quebec.
