The Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) works to address the ways in which women and gender-diverse people impacted by criminalization have been denied humanity and excluded from community.
It regroups a pan-Canadian network of 22 local member societies. These local societies are located across this land known as Canada and offer critical front-line services to their communities. Local societies become members of CAEFS through an in-depth application process and sustain their membership through engagement, reporting, and annual membership dues.
Each region builds its own advocacy team, ensuring a presence in all five federal prisons designated for women across Canada.
