Service available at our three locations: Montreal, Quebec City and Gatineau.
The community surveillance program began in 1998. It allows community organizations to monitor and follow up with provincial clients in the community.
The clientele referred to is distinguished by four legal status: conditional sentence (house arrest), conditional release (LC), temporary absence in preparation for conditional release (PSPLC) and probation.
Community workers can follow up with approximately 50 women each. They ensure that women respect their legal conditions and offer advice and assistance in the community.
Community workers have a legal mandate for cases referred under a conditional sentence order (house arrest). For cases referred under a probation order, conditional release or temporary absence in preparation for conditional release (PSPLC), the legal mandate rests with the probation officer; however, the community workers are responsible for the supervision. In all cases, community workers work closely with probation officers.
