The journal L'Itinéraire has released a very relevant report on the prison system and the possibility of social reintegration for individuals who have served a prison sentence. One of the residents of the Thérèse-Casgrain halfway house agreed to share her story and experiences. The Executive Director of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Quebec, Ruth Gagnon, also answered the journalist's questions. She emphasized that the prison and penal system was built primarily for men and that more work is needed to adapt it to the realities of women. You can read Alexandra Guellil's article, "Femmes criminalisées et judiciarisées." To read the full report, we highly recommend purchasing L'Itinéraire volume XXIII, number 19, October 1, 2016. http://www.itineraire.ca/
